New Album Releases

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to write a quick mention about some of the newest music that I'm listening to. The new Vampire Weekend album, Contra, is absolutely incredible. I suggest you get it soon! Next, the new Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach, is one of my favorite albums right now. Damon Albarn, the old front man of Blur (which I also love) has come back again with an awesome electronic/hip-hop album. I definitely encourage you to get this one.

Next, we have the Black Keys newest album called Brothers. This album is incredible, full of great drum beats and distorted guitars. They really know what they're doing and if you haven't listened to this album yet, you are truly missing out. Next, we have the new collaboration of James Mercer (front man from The Shins, which I also love) and Dangermouse (partner in crime with Cee-Lo from Gnarls Barkley). Their new project called Broken Bells has some very nice songs on it, although not every song is great on the album. It's a unique sound mixture of acoustic guitar, steady drum beats, and hints of electronic music.

Well, that's all for now, but if I find any more albums that are really blowing my mind, I will be sure to let you know!

What's the theme here anyway?

You're probably asking yourself, what is the theme of my blog. Well, I'll tell you just that. My whole purpose is to enlighten an audience, share thoughts about music, soundtracks, and just about every other part of the music industry. Music is something that is in all of us. It has the ability to connect people and communicate the most meaningful, deep messages to everyone across the planet. I myself am a singer/songwriter and have played the guitar for almost 7 years. I’m definitely no Hendrix or Clapton, but I love to play and I’m always motivated to be better.

These days, because of the internet, there has been an extremely heavy flow of new artists every single day that believe their music deserves to be heard by the masses. These days, that isn’t such a stretch. Also, this blog is about being positive and sharing positive thoughts and ideas about today’s music and the current state of the music industry. We need to be positive and focus on the great bands and artists that exist today. Our generations’ music is better than ever, you just have to be willing to find it and appreciate it for what is. We’re allowed to discuss problems and controversies within the music industry on this blog, but we will focus on how we can use these situations and learn from them or elaborate on them.
